Rhinefalls near Schaffhausen

Here are some impressions from the Rhinefalls (German: "Rheinfall"). They belong to the largest waterfalls in Europe and are located on the High Rhine near the town of Schaffhausen in northern Switzerland. They are 150 m wide and 23 m high and a typical summer water flow is about 600 m^3/s.

Rocks in the middle of the falls ("Rheinfallfelsen") with a lot of spume.

Standing directly above the thunderous water of the Rhinefalls.

Photographing the falls can become a wet affair.

Visitors are arriving at the Rheinfallfelsen rocks to go up to the outlook point.

View from Castle Laufen to Schlössli Wörth and the water basin behind the falls.
